Vella is built on two decades of manufacturing relationships, factory knowledge and hard-won experience — distilled into a single, honest sourcing partner for beauty brands worldwide.
Vella is backed by a cosmetics manufacturing group with over two decades of operations across China's key packaging clusters. In that time, we've worked with hundreds of factories — seen which ones cut corners under pressure, which ones hold quality as orders scale, and which ones are genuinely world-class at specific formats.
That accumulated knowledge is what Vella is built on. When you send us a brief, you're not getting an Alibaba search and a forwarded quote. You're getting 20 years of factory-floor experience applied to your specific packaging challenge.
Most China sourcing companies obscure what they are. They call themselves manufacturers when they're not, or bury the fact that they're reselling from factories they barely know. Vella does neither.
We're a sourcing and solutions partner. We work with a carefully selected network of ISO 22716 / GMP-compliant Chinese partner factories — matching each packaging format to the factory that genuinely specialises in it. No single factory excels at everything. Pretending otherwise would be doing our clients a disservice.
This factory-agnostic model means we're never incentivised to steer you toward a format that's convenient for us. The recommendation you get is the one that's best for your brand.
We turn down more factories than we accept. Here are the criteria that matter most.
ISO 22716 Good Manufacturing Practice or equivalent. We verify documentation — we don't just accept a certificate at face value.
We only add factories that genuinely specialise in a specific format category. Generalists that claim to make everything don't make the cut.
Our group must have worked with a factory long enough to know how they behave under pressure — not just when everything is straightforward.
We track lead time performance across production runs. Factories that consistently overpromise on delivery don't stay in the network.
Do they communicate clearly in English? Do they raise problems proactively or hide them? We know before you ever have to find out.
For eco-format categories, we look for GRS certification, PCR capability and responsible sourcing practices — not just packaging-level sustainability claims.
We're honest about what we can and can't source well. If your brief fits what we do — we'll show you how. If it doesn't, we'll tell you that too.
